Fellowship
The Skin Cancer College of Australia & New Zealand is pleased to announce a pathway for doctors to enter the discipline of skin cancer medicine and work towards achievement of Fellowship of the College. This will provide a clear career plan for these doctors and provide a much needed professional health service to our community. Patients will have a clear understanding that when they consult a Fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australia they are being treated by a doctor who has undertaken post-graduate training, passed exams and participates in ongoing education in the field of primary skin cancer medicine. In addition, medical colleagues and the general public can be confident that patients who consult a doctor who has achieved Fellowship of the College shall receive care commensurate with best clinical practice principles.
In summary, fellowship of the college will be open to all registered medical practitioners who can satisfy the following requirements in relation to education and training:
- Pass in the SCCANZ (or the previous SCSA) Certificate Exam (Part I)
Or: University of Queensland Master of Medicine (Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine)
Or: ACD Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine - Accredited time - 3 years full-time skin cancer, 6 years part-time skin cancer

- Surgical Audit
- Completion of Postgraduate Courses:
Either:
University of Queensland Masters Medicine (Skin Cancer)
Or:
the combination of:
Diploma of Practical Dermatology (Cardiff)
(or significant dermatology research or other significant dermatology related activity at the discretion of the board of censors)
plus Advanced Dermoscopy Course
plus Dermatologic Surgery Course - Pass in Skin Cancer College of Australia & New Zealand Exam (Part II) (OSCE style)
