Advanced Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery

The Advanced Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery is a highly comprehensive and in depth course for doctors seeking advanced skills and knowledge in skin cancer medcine and surgery.
This exciting course is presented over two semesters (24 weeks in total) via fortnightly online modules. Your study will include an intensive four day surgical workshop to be held in Brisbane from 16 to 19 June. This comprehensive workshop will provide practical exposure to various surgical procedures for closing skin excision defects and the opportunity to meet tutors and colleagues.
This comprehensive diploma course will provide an excellent grounding in both skin cancer medicine and the surgical knowledge and skills you need to become a reference doctor. It is an ideal complement to the SCCANZ Australian Diploma of Dermoscopy and provides a step along the pathway to becoming a SCCANZ Fellow.
Pre-requisite knowledge
All candidates enrolling for this course are assumed to be experienced in doing simple ellipse excisions and closures and to be working in an environment in which they will be able to practice skin cancer excisional surgery while completing the Diploma. If you do not meet these requirements, we strongly recommend you consider first enrolling in our Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine. Click here for more information.

Flexible course delivery
The Advanced Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery will be delivered by SCCANZ Fellows together with Dr Ian McColl, a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Delivery methods will combine a four day comprehensive face-to-face practical workshop, live video teleconference sessions, podcasts, blogs and 10 online modules. This format provides an ideal balance of flexible self-directed learning with responsive personal tutoring and interactive group sessions.

Course fee
- $6,250 (incl GST)
- SCCANZ and ACSCM members will enjoy an additional $110 discount.
- The fee for the Diploma includes attendance at the 4 day surgical workshops, 10 online modules and video conferences. (Note: travel to and accommodation while attending the surgical workshop is not included in the course fee.)
- $1,000 deposit is required at registration with the balance due 1 month prior to course commencement
